Re: smog pump

Does it run on the street? Do you have emission testing?

Re: smog pump

you will need to plumb some kind of return to take the place of the pump, or the pressure from the engine will start leaks mostly the valve covers, the pumps were put into place to replace the old carb breathers from the valve covers, the only gain you will get if the bearing is in good shape on the pump is a small load maybe 1/2 horse.
the return I am talking of is the inlet to combustion system.

Re: smog pump

well i have been looking at this smog pump eliminator on ebay that just replaces the smog pump with a block of aluminum and a pulley so would i still have to do all the other stuff or could i just get rid of it and not worry about it and can i just buy some filters to plug up the holes on the valve covers

Re: smog pump

you have to have some positive ventilation for your engine.
