Steering Box

A little over 2 years ago my stock steering box started leaking out of the ouput shaft (were the pitman arm goes) so I looked around for replacements and bought the AGR super box, which was supposed to be for heavy duty off-road use. It was 150$ more then one from kragens, but going off AGRs reputation I bought it. So yesterday I notice I have a power steering leak, and guess were its from...The input shaft on the AGR box. With under 10,000 miles on the box, I am more then slightly pissed. Have any of you had experience with this box, or any other that maybe wont suck? I guess I am gonna have to buy another, but I dont know if the cheap-o from Kragens is going to be any good either. Any experience or thoughts here? Thanks. And its on a 90 Bronco.

Re: Steering Box

Can`t answer your question specifically, but the input shaft seal should be easy to replace, just remove the steering coupler, remove the seal retaining clip, plug the return line start the motor for a fraction of a second and the leaking seal will pop right out.

Re: Steering Box

Re: Steering Box

Its just a seal like a rear axle seal, replacements for oem`s are available from the dealer or napa but you *may* have to contact ARB i would imagine, but im really not familiar with their boxes.
