Whats going on??? Help PLEASE!!

Ok folks here we go...for a while now my truck has been hard to shift between gears, dont really know why. And whenever I want to start it, I have to put a million pounds of pressure on both the brake and clutch, and it has to be in nuetral. And just started today. the clutch is acting weird...for the first 5 minutes or so that the truck is running whenever I press it down it will engage but either wont come all the way back up or pop back up real suddenly. Anyone know whats goin on? I had one machanic tell me it could be the clutch slave cyclinder?>

Re: Whats going on??? Help PLEASE!!

Sounds like the slave. you have to pull the tranny to replace it if its the mazda 5 speed which i am sure it is since its a f-150. replace the clutch while you have it apart. also call around to clutch shops they often sell slave cyls much cheaper than auto parts store same thing with the clutch. i replaced the clutch pressure plate and throwout bearing also slave on my 91 f150 for $130 going to kentucky clutch where auzone would have cost $90 for the slave and $179 for the clutch kit! I highly recommend AGAINST O'riellys clutch kits and slave cylinders after a bad experiance with an s-10...

Re: Whats going on??? Help PLEASE!!

do it yourself. About 4 hours with basic tools and a $130 investment if you get your parts from a clutch shop. ALot better than $1000!!!
