Re: 351M400

351 is 5.8. Not exactly sure what the 400 is. You either have a 351M or a 400M. The blocks are the same, The difference is the crank.

Re: 351M400

Heck if Pontiac's 400 is 6.6 litres

then so would anybody's 400 cubes equal 6.6 litres.

p.s./ Mopar lists their 360 as 5.9 and Chebbie lists their 350 as 5.7

Re: 351M400

On the valve cover 351M/400 is the engine family. 351M is a 5.8L and 400 is a 6.6L. Engines are identical except for crank and pistons.

Re: 351M400

The 351 is a tall deck 351 cleavland a 400 is a stroked tall deck 351cleavland. these engines have big valves but low compression heads. a set of flat top or pop up pistons and one will scream. Also have to change to a pre 73 351c timming set OR change to an edelbrock performaer cam/intake/roller timming chain and you will have about twise as much power as stock as the factory timming is retarded somthing like 13degrees.
