Last night the battery light came on (96 302 Bronc). I had replaced the alternator 6 months ago and went back to the CarQuest place to have it checked. It checked out bad, I installed a new one, the battery light is off but there seems to be no charging going on. The voltmeter in the dash sits on "N" of Normal and doesn't move up when I rev the engine. Checked the battery, it's low but it's okay. What now?
Get your own tester from an auto parts store. you connect on the pos and neg when the engine is running. It should be kept steady at approximately 14 volts when charging.
Never mind, I found the problem. The B+ connector on the rear side of the alternator was broken inside the plastic sleeve where it's connected to the eyelet.
