lift help

i recently ran into a friend that had a set of brand new mickey 18/39/16.5's for sale $200.00( now i have them)
what size lift do i need? and do i have to change front, and rear gears? also will i need longer driveshafts ?please help- I couldnt pass up a deal like that. [img]images/graemlins/RockOn.gif[/img] <font color="blue"> </font color>

First we need to know what truck you are putting them on. If you want to put them on a Bronco or F150 you can sell them for a profit and buy some tires your stock axles can handle. Unless you have 1 ton axles front and rear you are going to snap axleshafts/ujoints like toothpicks if you wheel on 39's. 1/2 ton drivetrains on average can handle a 35" tire. As you go bigger the stress the tires bring upon the axles increase. Imagine adding a cheater bar to a wrench and how it increases the amount of leverage on the bolt you are trying to break loose. If you want to run those 39's then you have to go with 1 ton equipment.
