Compressed Air System....Any Thoughts???

Has anyone had expiriences with a compressed air system on thier rig? I was thinking maybe a small pump and a aux. tank under the toolbox. Mostly for airing up tires and running air tools when needed. Just thought it might be something nice to have if the price was right.

Check broncoair.com
He makes a kit with pulley -compressor.
Find a york from the boneyard off of old wagoneers or Volvos. There everywhere once you start looking.
Good luck.

How about the electric compressors. I see alot of people who use those and say they like them, although I cant see them having the capacity of the belt drivin ones.

York. Look on ebay, sometimes they have compressors sometimes they have complete systems that people have taken out of their trucks. You can also find a lot of the small parts like pressure switches and pop off valves on there for cheap. I have a york with 2 semi truck air tanks under my toll box in the bed of my truck.

How do you like that setup? What all do you run off of it?

Air tools, whatever runs air. An impact uses it quick because my rear bumper/tank isn't that big but it airs up tires fast and it's awsome with an air ratchet.

Re: Compressed Air System....Any Thoughts???

In the truck I always carry an 1/2 inch impact, air drill, cut off wheel and air chuck. I always have enough air for all of those tools. I can rotate my tires with no waiting for the tanks to fill up. Now that I have the air I am always looking for an excuse to use it. Its all good fun.
