Measurment please....

I'm gonna make my own body bushings out of a 3"poly rod I found on the internet US Plastics. I can make them for about $25. Fords wants $80 for each side! Or the whole kit for $329. This sucker ain't pay'n Ford! I'll just drill a hole in the middle of them and put new bolts/washer/nut combo. I need to know how thick to cut the bushings, then add an inch for a little easier tranny access if I ever need to pull it. If someone knows there sizes top and bottom, It look like there are two bushings per side, but mine are gone so I can't measure. Thanks-Bob

Re: Measurment please....

I know this ain`t the answer to the question your looking for bob, * but * where does it state the density of the poly rod you plan to use on that site?
Polyurethane as i understand, can be had in different densities which mean it can be hard as a rock or closer to soft like the factory rubber bushings. I still need to replace my body mounts as the popping noise is really irritating and imbarassing , so if your onto something im not familiar with, fill me in...

however, jcwhitney has a prothane polyurethane body bushing kit for our broncos for $80 both sides, but not offered in additional heights...
