E40D removal

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the E40d circuit and the C6 circuit? I want to splice the C6 neutral saftey switch into the circuit and there are 8 wires on the E40d switch and only 4 on the C6 switch. I don't want to loose my reverse lights and i want the 4x4 and Low range lights to work(they didnt work on my 89 F150 and i never had them on the 86 it was 2wd).

Re: E40D removal

A bit quicker and neater is get the wiring for the M5OD and plug it up.......

The lights don't go to the tranny. BTW do you have the manual t-cse or pushbutton?

Re: E40D removal

I know the 4x4 and low range lights switches are on the t-case. I have a manual 1345 t-case. How would the wiring from the M50d help? Wouldn't i still have to modify it for the C-6 neutral saftey switch? I'll just pull the wires that i don't need from the E4OD harness all the way back to the next plug to eliminate the clutter. BTW where is the trans computer? I want that unplugged and removed also so the PCM doesn't get confused at all.

Thanks again

Re: E40D removal

The M5OD is already setup for the backup lights (only). Plugs right in and looks stock. If you want to make do with the E4OD harness then get a Haynes and look at the schematics.

There is no trans computer. Your ECC is dual hatted. When you take out the E4OD it will throw all the codes for the E4OD but will not make the light come on.

Re: E40D removal

Unpluggin the E4OD wont affect drivabilty? NICE. i was gonna start looking for a 351 ECC with either an AOD or C6. I'll check the yard for any M5OD transmissions. What years were they offered and were there any other 5 speeds to confuse me?

Thanks again.

Re: E40D removal

The only other 5spd i can think of is the ZF, but you wont mistake the two, believe me!

Quoted from Havack's site:
"1987-1996 F-Series for light to medium duty work. Common in the F-150. Rare in the F-250. Typically has an internal clutch slave cylinder."
