I found a chasis for sale

Ok, i found a rolling chasis for sale in the town next to mine, but i want some opinions on it.

First off let me say that didnt get to look at it 'till after dark, so i couldnt get a real good look at it, but i do know this much:
It is from a 3/4 ton ford, that much im sure of. The front axle is a leaf sprung, closed knuckle Dana44. Since its closed knuckle, its got to be low-pinion, so i doubt i could use it even if i wanted to, unless i changed the tcase. The rear axle appears to be a Dana 60. Both driveshafts are still connected to the tcase, which is still bolted to the frame.

My question is...if its cheap, would it be worth it for the rear axle? I dont have an info on the frame yet, im gonna try to talk to the guy who owns it tomorrow. Any thoughts?

Re: I found a chasis for sale

the d60 is nice b/c it's full floating but otherwise it doesn't net you much strength as the shafts aren't much better than the 8.8's.... better get it really cheap since the front doesn't sound like much either. HOWEVER, these axles might do well under a certain suzuki product that you've recently come into possession of

Don't waste your time. A closed knuckle 44 is late 60's/early 70's. No streangth gain there. It's a dinosaur, let it go.

Yeah, i knew the D44 wasnt really worth anything, but i was wondering if the D60 was. Figured it would have been a cheap way to land a D60, but if what muddy says is true, then i definitely dont want it. Thanks guys!

If it's that old it might also be a 16 or 17? spline 60 rear.

If it were cheap I'd personally get it just for yard art.....but otherwise, no.

Yeah, im gonna pass on it. I dont really have to time right now to undertake a project like that anyway. It was just one of those things, like "Hey, what a coincidence, that looks like it has everything id need to do the swap!"

Oh and Muddy, i thought about that, but i dont wanna go full-width with the Zuk. Im gonna try to keep it as low and narrow as i can. And of course flexy
