replacement shock bushings... where to buy?

the upper and lower stud bushings at the top of my front shocks are wasted to where they are almost falling off, which is pretty much nullifying the shocks' usefulness... where can I get some new ones? i'm not sure how bad my others are, but where can i pick up the cylindrical type bushing as well?

Hey Muddy

I doubt Ford or Monroe or anyone is going to sell em' seperate of the shocks, but you could try a place that installs shocks like a Sears auto centre. They'd probably have lots lying around as they get extras.

I'm wondering why you don't price polyurethane bushings from one of the poly manufacturers at Summit ? They definately sell em' seperately and they'll last a lot longer too

I was wondering if the poly ones existed... i'll definitely go that route if they're reasonably priced. Actually I think all my bushings are poly except these uppers on the front, and coincidentally they are also the only ones that have worn

Re: replacement shock bushings... where to buy?

Well mine were beyond gone so I went ahead and used some rubber ones I found in the Help! section at O'reilly for $3 per side. That section has really grown, you can find anything in there! I spent 10 minutes just looking over it thinking about how useful some of those things would've been at some point or another. They are offering prizes for new ideas for hard to find products that they could produce, so check out www.motormite.com if you are looking for something that you just can't find!
