OT: Vacation to Alaska

Woo Hoo!!!!!
We leave Saturday morning for a 7 day cruise to Alaska! (which kind of kills the Moab trip this year )
We leave from Seattle, head up the Inside Passage, and have stops in,
Juneau, Sitka, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan, and Victoria on the way back.

Hey, Sixlitre:
What is it that I call the "Native Americans" up there if I run into any?
I know it's not Eskimo.
Inuit?

Peace all, and keep up the fordbroncomodificationdom!

Re: OT: Vacation to Alaska

I was stationed up in Ketchikan for about two years. The two groups up that way are the Tlingit and the Haida, I believe. I've been to all those places you will visit compliments of the Coast Guard. If you've never been up that way or traveled the Inside Passage your in for some beautiful scenery. Hope you have fun. Chris

I also hear that it's trout season up there before the rivers freeze over. Have fun!

Ah Ha! Tlingit.
Those are the folks that helped "move" the gold rush along, and over Chilkoot Pass?
(Yeah, I'm a Discovery Channel freak!)

Thanks for the info.

Hmmm. Trout fishing. Get lots of that here.
I'm looking forward to hooking into a 50lb King Salmon for a change!

Re: OT: Vacation to Alaska

Woo Hoo! Have a ball WD!

Lots of pics!

Meanwhile....

Woo hoo! Back at the ranch, I was kickin' myself for not getting to the ceremonial "have o laugh at the guy that is gone" posting for our buddy BigNorm during his recent move!

But now, the ideal opportunity ariseth. So, everybody, we'll be missing the Librarian on his excursion to the Great White North. And we'll have to fend for ourselves in digging up pics/past posts. But be forwarned Doug, we may just manage in your absence. And we may just create a rather thoughtful rememberance (as we did on Norms big Hawaii adventure!) to keep us humored and mindful of you, until your return!

Don't fret, keep focused on catching that big Salmon, though we may have already got that pic for you upon your return!

thanks so much for letting us know of your departure beforehand!

PS, be safe and have fun

Man, WD, you are fast getting those pics back to us

Does that mean that the green flag has been waved on the pictures.
