weird shifting

Have a 94 F150 w/302 and AOD, the problem is that I'm having hard shifting (sometimes), and it also will drop down a gear or two without giving it any or much gas. Anyone have an idea on what it is and how to fix?

Re: weird shifting

Could be the jets in the tranny are clogged try picking up a bottle of the miracle worker Sea Foam. If theat doesn't work sounds like it needs a rebuild.

Re: weird shifting

Sounds like the "TV cable" needs adjusting. (as long as it is in fact an AOD and not a E4OD)
It controls the downshifts, as well as normal shifting.
The procedure for adjusting it should be shown in a Haynes or Chiltons manual.

Unless, someone else chimes in with how to do it,
try searching for TV cable in the Truck/Bronco forums, and see what comes up.

Ah ha.
Try this.
