Paint the truck with POR-15?

In an effort to get the truck on the road ASAP, I'm ditching the paint job, and thinking about laying down a coat of Hardcoat White of POR15... anybody use or see something like this done before? It will be a street/trail rig that will see its share of abuse day in day out, I'm not worried about having a really nice looking paint job on the truck, just something that will be decent and last for a long time without allowing moisture to get into the sheet metal.

i thought POR15wasnt supposed to be used in sunlight, so it would be great for a frame but not like anything above the body out in the light. maybe i just heard wrong.

Re: Paint the truck with POR-15?

the whitecote isnt UV sensitive as the plain POR15 but also doesn`t contain the rust preventing properties either even though its also non-porous, they still recommend coating first with por-15. the regular por-15 can be top coated after you use their expen$ive tie coat primer, but my problem with rust has always been from moisture getting from the INSIDE out, uhh .... leaking drip rail cracks , bad weatherstripping, etc, so im not sure this would be a permanent solution to rust control on a bronco even though the whitecote is heavy duty stuff.
