Got your owners manual? All the info in there.

Haynes manual should have the info also. Just add 'til it comes out the fill hole.

IIRC, I usually get 4 qts to do both the front (Dana 44) and rear (9"), and end up with a partial one left over for topping up.
As was mentioned, just fill to the bottom of the plug hole.

Front (to the bottom of fill hole) 3.8 pints
Rear 8.8 (1/4" to 1/2" below filler hole) 5.5 pints. Don't forget additive if equipped with crap-lock
BW1356 2 quarts Mercon auto tranny fluid.

Crap loc's better than no loc IMO! My crap loc in the D44 has worked awsome for me in the past. Surprisingly so. I do believe that this is probably the exception and not the rule. I would never spend money on this upgrade but if it's already in there I feel it's better than being open.

Unless you commute to work up streams, like lal357(lots of changes due to water contamination), go to fully synthetic 75W90 gear lube and fully synthetic Castrol mercon tranny fluid. I get my gear lube at any Dodge dealer, it's still about $9.00/quart Canadian (American pocket change) and it's clean as a whistle when I dump it/vacuum it (front axle) every year or two.

Sixlitre

p.s./
WD-40 is spot on the numbers I use for buying amounts.
