Rear Tailgate widow down and out

I have a 1990 -- rear window is down and won't go up. How can you get the window up so that you can work on the motor and wiring??

There's a ton of well worded instructions to this already typed out here. Do a search and you'll be all set

No there really is not. I searched for an hour and a half. The window is DOWN!!! No one has mentioned ANYTHING on how to get it UP if it is all the way DOWN and the motor does not work.

Well, have you tried to troubleshoot WHY it's not going up? Checking the switch, wiring, ground, window motor, binding?

I said it is IN THE GATE!! There is power to the gate. Checked it all with ohm meters and test lights.

OK -- I more time. Is there anyone out there that REALLY knows anything REALLY about these windows. THE PROBLEM IS THE WIRING AT THE MOTOR. Only thing is with the window down, you cannot get to the motor. THAT IS THE PROBLEM. If I could get the window up, even half way, I can fix it. How do you get the window up without power to the motor WITHIN THE GATE?

first, stop yelling
2nd, search
did you remove the acess panel? you can move the window up some by hnad by sliding it on the rollers.......
you shure its the wiring at the motor, and not the wires that pivit and kink that is right next to the gate?

Re: Rear Tailgate window down and out

remove the access panel? Well no, I use my super-eyes and I sense voltage via my 6th sense and current with the 7th. OF COURSE THE ACCESS PANEL IS REMOVED -- ARE YOU SOME KIND OF A RUM-DUMB OR WHAT? Geez, who reads these posts? Forget it, I think I know the answer.
