Rim Question.

got a chance to pick up a set of free 10" wide alloy rims.
they are on a bronco now.. the only thing is it looks like i need about 4" longer wheel studs, which isnt a problem i guess but inside the rims its stamped FOR RACING USE ONLY.
the rims are made by CHEVIT or CHEVYIT. i cant remember.
anyone think they can shed some light on this for me?

Huh? Is the center of the rim that thick?
Or, do they come with offset spacers?

FOR RACING USE ONLY
Meaning, not DOT approved.
You may have a problem with a tire shop mounting them up.
Unless, you bring them in "loose", and put them on the rig yourself.

What was their primary use on the Bronco that they came off of?
OTOH:
You sure you want something with "chevy" stamped on it installed on your Ford?
That's a great price though.

Re: Rim Question.

haha thats funny.. down with chebby. yea thats what i was thinkin.. but no one will ever know. and actually i work at a lube and tire shop.. so installation isnt a problem, cause ill be doing it. its just i dunno the FOR RACING USE ONLY just kinda freaked me out. the bronco there off of was on the street only i assume.. being as ive never seen it dirty. there not still actually mounted as of now... he had them removed, bead blasted. and thats how they sit now. ill prolly end up painting them white. and yea like i mean ill need long studs, about 5" all together id say, or long deep bolts. or something.

Re: Rim Question.

I still don't get it. Stock has about a 1.5 inch stud. You are staying that these rims will need a 4-5 inch stud? I call you out on this one. Show us why. Unless you are running a real thick spacer and if so you should be banned from driving.

Re: Rim Question.

man i dont get why your thinkin im full of it.. cause im not. theres NO spacers.. just rim.. w/ i dunno the exact same back spacing as my 10 inch wide ford rims have, give or take .25 of an inch. and yea im saying about 5" of stud.. well it could only be 4.5" though i guess... buts its gunna have to be long .. ill slide by buds and snap a few pictures of one tomorrow and you'll be like hmm... and why should i be banned from driving?? these rims arent on my truck yet, actually there not even mine yet. and i happen to take safety pretty seriously when it comes to my rig! and i wouldnt drive around with my tire sticking way out w/ spacers. cause thats illigal where im from here in canada. Whats with the hostility man?

Re: Rim Question.

I'm with Havok on this one...I can't see why you'd need longer studs to mount the rims. Backspacing doesn't call for the need of longer studs. I'm running 15X8 with some amount of backspacing on my 93 F150 and they are just find, and they are THICK rims, about 3/8" alluminum. I guess I'd have to see a picture to see what you mean, but if you're using some kind of a spacer that puts that thing out there 4 inches, I'd be scared to drive the thing
