Charcoal Canister Removal

I am really tired of looking at that ugly charcoal canister in the front of my 81 Bronco. I was wondering if it can be removed? The canister hangs down farther than anything else. If it can be removed, do you plug the gas line vent hose and the hose that runs to the carb, or do you let it vent? Thanks for any help.

Re: Charcoal Canister Removal

I dont see much reason to remove it, but mine is gone right now because my fan belt got ahold of it and knocked a chunk out ot the case. I originally had it plugged but then I got worried about pressure so now I just let it vent to the atmosphere. I'm not sure what the best thing to do is, probably some sort of a one-way check valve, though having the fumes go into the throttle body really should be a good thing. Just relocate it if it bothers you.... but let me know if you get rid of it cuz I might want it
