Norm\'s Winch (Warning: lots of pix)

Hi. This is what I've been up to for the last few days. Last month my cousin asked me if I wanted to buy a winch for a hundred dollars. Knowing that what I was saving for could take forever and then some I said yes! He warned me that it was an old unit and I told him as long as it works It'll be OK. I spent some time burning and cutting into my old bumper and used some longer bolts and oversized nuts as spacers to get the right distance from the radiator as this thing is huge. I ripped the crotch out of my pants lifting the thing. It is heavy. Anyway here it is. Alot of work went into this even if it doesn't look like it.

Is that an 8274 winch? That is one of the best warn's ever made.More pulling power than the laydown low profile winches.

It's an old Warn 8000 with a mechanical brake. I don't know if it spools out yet but I know that it freespools easilly and the damn'd line speed rocks. At least without a load. NORM

looks good Norm, if it works for $100 you can't beat it. So do you have it all wired up yet. Lets see some action shots. Pulling others out of course.

Re: Norm\'s Winch (Warning: lots of pix)

I've noticed that most of the best stucks I've seen almost always include someone with a winch. I'm wondering if the Winch will put an "S" on my chest. lol. NORM

Norm the winching superman! That looks like the same design as the 8274 that all the crawlers want because of its speed, maybe you found a treasure!

now would be a good time to add a 6" illuminated voltage gauge on top of the dash
