Re: winch cable VS winch rope

Winch rope is not for everyone. Go to pirate and do a search on rope. It has been discussed many hundreds of times over there. There is some good info and you can decide if it's the direction you want to go.

Good luck,

Re: winch cable VS winch rope

I just installed Rockstomper's rope. I've only used it to pull some stumps around the property and have found that its' "slippery" enough the top line that has load on it will "squirm" it's way between the lower rolls, oftentimes all the way to the drum - weird.

But yes, search PBB - and watch out for Masterpull!

Re: winch cable VS winch rope

well the squirming is enough for me dont want to have to take a come-along to get it out in free spool

is it not impossible to get that crap back out once it does that?

to me, the weight seems to be the advantage... as far as safety is concerned, run a 3/8" cable and replace it when it frays/rusts and it's plenty safe to use wire rope
