C-6 transmission Question.

Hi everybody ,Ive been down here in hurlburt at school for a while. Sorry I dont have alot of time. But I got a freind with an 78 bronco and his tranny, a C6 is leaking but I dont know from what. Its leaking right at the front of the bell housing. Theres a thin plate going up to where the shaft is and at the bottom there its leaking from inside , but I dont know what would leak there. Can anyone help us out a lil. Also anyone know some good sites for c6 specs. Like how much atf fluid itll hold whats gears it had and so on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx and take care everybody.

Re: C-6 transmission Question.

There's lots of data on <font color="blue">Havack</font color>'s Broncodata site.
You're handy-dandy Haynes or Chiltons should have the fluid capacity.
IIRC, around 14 quarts including the torque convertor.

Most likely, it's the input seal for the torque convertor, on the front of the pump.
They generally last a long time, but if the engine has been out,
and the torque convertor was left "hanging" in the tranny,
it'll deform that seal and cause a leak.
