Tailgate fixed $$

$150 later and the rusted area under the rubber end pieces of the tailgate is fixed up. Got a body shop to weld some new metal in there and paint it up. The metal in the rubber end caps were also rusting away so that was $23 each and while I was at got the outer tailgate weatherstrip at $65. Almost $300 later and everything is good to go, $200 for you guys below the 49th.

If you live in a wet climate it would be a good idea to check under those rubber pieces. The metal there is pretty thin and definitely a weak point.
