winches

My brother has a 95 f150, my friend has a 2001 f250 sd, and I have a jeep. We are all going to pitch in for a winch. We were trying to get a mounting kit that we can switch back and frowth between the two trucks. But a 12,000 or a 15,000 lds winch won't fit on a movable kit. Does the 9,500 have enough a$$ to pull the 250 or Is there any way to get a movable kit and make it fit the 12,000 or 15,000

Re: winches

Warn makes a 9500 winch that should work just fine. If you wanted more power then I'd make my own plate with a reciever hitch and a bumper that can handle the strain. If you are worried about being "that" stuck then I'd even box the front of the F250's frame because if you are that stuck that you need that much pulling power chances are you are going to bend something if you haven't reinforced it. My personal .02, I think the 9500 Warn will work just fine.

Get the 9500 and a snatch block and you'll be fine. AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE HAS PROPER RECOVERY POINTS!!!

Re: winches

Yep, what Norm says and MSU.....

Those trucks aren't so heavy that they need a 12k+ winch, if you have the right accessories, including a snatch block. If you are looking at doing the removable thing, the 9500 is what you should be looking at.
