Automatic locking hubs

Auto hubs on my 96 Bronco are not locking, is there a way to check them to see if thats my problem? Can they be fixed or is replacing them with manual hubs a better way to go.

If I need to go to manual hub what are the best ones Warn, Milemarker or Superwinch?

Re: Automatic locking hubs

I would not waste the time with the autos. You can check them by just verifying that:
1) when you engage the T-case it engages in hi and lo
2) once engaged, your front driveshaft will not spin free, it will move with the vehicle.
3) the axleshafts/ujoints out at the wheels will also be engaged

if your front is getting power and you are not feeling the 4wd, your auto hubs are not supplying the engagement from the axleshaft to the hub and tire.

The auto hubs are just too problematic to be useful if you use/need 4WD.

Warn are probably the biggest sellers out there. All the brands usually make a standard or a premium hub. Warn or Milemarker would be my suggestion. Standard version unless you do alot of 4 wheelin. The premiums are quite a bit more expensive.
