ALMOST finished Project

I had two rectangle lights on my grill guard, they broke so i made better use of them and put them on the bumper for back up lights showed them! i removed the black "Martha Stuart plastic bumper covers" on each side
i have a hitch with a trailer light hook up, but i duno what to wire the lights to so that they turn on when i go in reverse... help?

Re: ALMOST finished Project

First, if they were broke up front, won't they still be broke in their new home?

Ok, seriously, I don't think you want them wired in to turn on when you go in reverse:

1) because on road that is illegal
2) because there are often times you may wish to use those lights regardless of which gear you are in.

So, I suggest you wire these independtly, with the appropriate gauge wire and fuse, and use a relay and switch to the cab so you can turn on whenever you want.

Don't turn them on to blind tailgaters, no matter how much you want to..see item 1 above.

Juice is right - wire them to a switch in the dash for use-on-demand.

Dang, BurntPiston, you're becoming a regular WD-40, nice touches there with the labeling!!!!!

I shouldn't doubt you though, wasn't it you that helped me decide NOT to go with the chrome "biggies", remember that pic?

I see so many Navigator's and Escalades, and even a yellow H2 POS with Biggies on these days. Every time I see one, I start smiling and thinking of that pic.

Re: ALMOST finished Project

just dont do what i did and drive 5 miles of interstate with the damn thing still turned on holding 3 lanes of traffic back ... put a bright lighted rocker switch or buzzer in there so that you dont forget to turn them off.
