ERATIC RUNNING 5.0 LITER IN 90 F150, HELP?

I've got a 90 model
F150 that gets driven about every 2-3 weeks.
My cj7 is my daily driver, so the question's to ask are what causes the ford to run eratically on start up and what makes it quit shortly thereafter. And also i can be driving down the road and it'll start running at about half throttle, even when i take my foot off the gas. The only way it'll quit is to kill the engine. I've ran injector cleaner thru both tanks and also gas treatment for moisture build up in the tanks. could anybody give me a clue? oh, one more thing, some days it'll run just fine. thanks

It sounds like one of the electrical components. I wish I paid more attention to the FI posts now. Try doing a search this has been discussed before I think.

I got a 90 Bronco. Could be any component or several of them. I would get a haynes manual and get your trouble codes. you get a check engine light? The codes can help point you in the right direction and the manual gives you the tests. The throttle bodies get dirty and the butterflies can stick. That may be a place to start, pull it and clean it.

Sounds like your having problems with your Throttle Position sensor to start with, but i would read the codes before you start buying EFI parts, it`ll eat a hole in your wallet real quick that way...

I had a similar problem a few weeks back. For me it was the fuel pressure regulator. As was mentioned, you should check the TPS as well as checking & cleaning the IAC.
