Shackle Reinforcement

When I saw this I got mad but it served me right because these shackles are meant to hang and not support the weight of the vehicle:

This is after I reinforced it: I don't think it will bend again.

Re: Shackle Reinforcement

Chebby orange?! Where da ford blue go? I like the shackles, but I thought you were going to make some from scratch? I think for every inch longer a shackle is you get 1/2 inch of lift. Something to think about-But not too long, Don't want to fit dem 44's with just a shackle lift! Hey norm I think I found you a parts truck within your price range... It's a '75 f350, 460, auto, probably 2wd, but it's $250 I believe it's in dayton. You could use the D60 and motor/trans for da bronc!

Re: Shackle Reinforcement

In regards to the orange, it's just primer and all I had available at the time. Flat black will be covering it up today. I like the parts truck idea but don't know if my in laws will apreciate another vehicle in there back yard. I'm thinking I'm going to have to wait. Thanx for the heads up though.

Mine's prettier

BTW, Norm, I have a patent on that design. I'll look for a royalty check in the mail!

Re: Shackle Reinforcement

Norm, I hear the Military is looking into your design for their 10 ton transports!

Guess that shackle won't be bending on you again.

Hey, I'm checking your gas tank skid there....looks like that's in need of some Norm lovin'/weldin' project too.
