Re: 351 ?????

Yep. I've read up on the conversion you are probably thinking of and I've researched it some. Guys who have done it swear to never do it again and would have rather gone out and bought a truck already fuel injected than to go through it again. Still want to try? Good! heres a link on swapping to TBI and the EO4D tranny fuelie link . Heres the way I'm probably going to go. Howell Injection And finally here's a bitchin' post from the SWB Jeep forum on a build it yourself ECU: Megasquirt

Re: 351 ?????

Actually I read about how hard it was to swap in the fuel injection and was planning on doing the howell injection also I am just looking for a full carbd 351w that will be a direct bolt in to my 80 with the t18 tranny (dont want to give up that 6.32 first gear for the rock crawling) so I am looking for a full parts truck to fix a couple of other things then pull the motor rebuild and swap in. then pull axels hubs fenders and anything else I can think of and then junk it.

Re: 351 ?????

I have a great running carbed 351w in my 83 F350. I'm still waiting to see if the insurance co. is going to total it or not. It was hit while parked in front of my house. The motor was rebuilt by North Jersey Performance and has like 20,000 or 30,000 miles on it.

Re: 351 ?????

Doesn't look too bad but I guess it may cost more to fix it than book value.

Re: 351 ?????

What's book on an 83 2wd? The box is aluminum and I got an estimate of $3600 to fix just the box, not the cab (that was from the co. that sold and installed the box back in 83'). So they'll prolly total it. Pisses me off too, that was the best running truck I had. Only needed an A/C compressor and who needs A/C in 10 degree weather? LOL

Re: 351 ?????

Well, buy it back and part out, ebay!!! I don't know what book value is but I'd bet it isn't much over 5G's if in great condition!

Re: 351 ?????

Wow. That truck is like my dream project. Buy it back and take the box off. Move the rear leafs forward and chop the frame. Then make a custom bed! Yeah! Lift it up and put 44s on there and you got what I dream about. NORM
