change 5 lug 4x4 front to 8 lug

Hi all

ok here is the situation I am putting together a f150 (89) I have a dana 8 lug dually rear axle I want to use on it and I wanted to put a electronic hub 4x4 front suspension on the truck too, the only one I have been able to find is a 5 lug one off of a f150, I was wondering if there is any way to convert the front rotors to 8 lug ones? Also if anyone can tell me all of what I need from the front suspension to do the conversion, I have a whole truck to pirate the parts off of provided that I can convert the front to use the same kind of wheels the dually rear does. Please email me at [email protected] if you can help

thank you

Re: change 5 lug 4x4 front to 8 lug

You can easily convert the TTB Dana 44 under the front of your '89 F150 to 8 lugs using Chevy parts. Carefully read this page, and then read it again:

You could certainly use auto hubs, better term is "lockouts" (there's nothing electronic about the lockouts, they're all purely mechanical) but they're garbage. Maybe Chevy's autos were better, I dunno, but either will fit. A Dana 44 is a Dana 44 (or a 10 bolt) as far as lockouts are concerned.

I have no idea how the dually stuff will come into play.
