NP208

I recently (two days ago) looked at the tag on my Tcase and found out that I'm running a NP208. Is there any upgrades ( gear reduction, twinstick) that can be done on these. As a bonus I found out that the xmember on the big block Broncos 80-81 have a huge crossmember to support the big block C6 and it looks like it will bolt onto my smallblock C6! The damn thing consists of a good sized piece of steel bolted to the tranny and two big rubber grommets (derned things look like body mounts! ) between actual xmember. Thing is friggin huge and I'm gonna drop that tranny soon so I can put it for sale and put the tranny mount on my 86! Anyone have any idea how much a big block C6 is worth?

Norm, I'd love to see a pic of that xmember........and even your current xmember! Would really help me out with an upcoming project.

I'm not aware of any upgrades for the 208, don't think they exist.

Re: NP208

As soon as I can get back to my parts truck Shilo. (Its at the In Laws house). But yeah it would be pretty easy to make one by the looks of it or even modify your current one to work like this one.

Re: NP208

So,
The crossmember itself looks the same, but that's sure a heck of a lot stouter tranny mount!
Very interesting find there Norm.
BTW, where'd you find a "big block" '80-'81???

Re: NP208

My 81 Bronco parts truck has a 351M and a big block C6 attatched to it. the xmember was on there. Bolted right up to my smallblock C6.
