Drum vs Disc Conversion pro/cons!

I want to know if this can be done. Drum to disc conversion.
What are the Pros/cons?
I wan to use curries rotor but I want to try to have the same brake pads as the front For easy replacement. Could this be done?

Re: Drum vs Disc Conversion pro/cons!

Most of the kits for the 8.8 use redrilled GM rotors and some form of GM caliper. The D44 Rotors will not fit over the 8.8 axles so that is one problem. You could turn the axles down a bit a custom fab a bracket....

Re: Drum vs Disc Conversion pro/cons!

Yea, the guys spell out a couple issues. I have seen a kit or two out there, but they are never complete. And, I know the newer ABS works off the toner in the 8.8 pumpkin, but I don't know if there would be any issues with the ABS with this swap.

By the way, what do you gain? I know the disc is easier cleaning if you go in mud alot. I am getting ready to do my drums. I am on the original everything at 97k.

with discs in the rear you supposedly get better braking power. Bronco graveyard sells the kits and they are almost complete if i remember right.
