Project Update

Okay, so I knew the truck was ragged out when I got it, but hey - $500 invested, figured I couldnt go wrong!

The rear's replaced ... the engine, tranny & t-case from the donor will soon be dropped in ... so I set out to rebuild the front-end. I've been stoked, thinking of how nice it'll be to get rid of all that slop in the steering! So finally the joints, ends, link, etc. are replaced & it's time to test drive - oh, this is gonna be nice!! Guess What - It Wasn't !!! Almost as much slop as before !
So I pull up at a bud's place - who knows my dilemma - and he says 'hey check this out' as he jumps behind the wheel & tells me to watch my bumper. 'Watch my bumper?' WTF?
Sure enough - he cranks the wheel & the bumper - hell, the whole front-end moves before the wheels turn! Dayumn! Look up under the wheel-well & sure 'nuf - the frame's cracked at the steering box. The only thing keeping the front of the frame together is the bumper, which has worked it's bolts mighty loose. Soooo ... I guess I know what's next on the ol' project list - at least this one's a cheap fix !!!
