Auto Tranny Tools

What kind of tools are needed to rebuild an automatic tranny? Are they worth buying? Or is it still cheaper to just pull the tranny and send it to the tranny guy? I would like to learn how to build them though. NORM

Re: Auto Tranny Tools

What are you looking to do? Completely disassemble, or just do some maintenance? Im currently in the process of fixing my g/f's tranny in her (gasp!) dodge ram, and so far i have not needed any 'special tools' whatsoever. (Actually, i should be finishing it up tomorrow (saturday) afternoon.)
Theres not a whole lot to the C6, at least not compared to these new-fangled electronic transmissions. You probably already have everything you need.

Cool. I saw my cousin build his Chevy truck tranny and I remember him using a BF Screwdriver for alot of stuff.
