BODY LIFT ????

Ok I have to make the gap between my body and the frame no more than 3 ins. I now have a 3 in body lift and a 1 in body bushing. I dont have time to order new lift blocks since I have to pass inspection before 31 dec 02. Should I

a)remove body bushings and forget about it o

b) take body lifts blocks out and somehow cut them down 1in and then reistall them

what would be the down fall to just removing the body bushing if any

I really only see removing the lift until after inspection then putting it back on. I wouldnt go and cut it. Man the people in your area need to rethink these things.

Re: BODY LIFT ????

Well I had thought about that but I would just have to do it again next year come inspection time. Besides I talked the wife into letting me get the suspension lift because of the fact that I have to lose an inche of body lift. You know the tires will rub with only 2 ins of body lift

Re: BODY LIFT ????

you could try to find some cheap/free 5lug wheels/tires that fit under stock height til you get a chance to put on the susp lift

Re: BODY LIFT ????

Are they really that anal at the inspection station? Do they really check the gap? I wonder if there is some way you could disguise it. Damn Nazis!

Re: BODY LIFT ????

They are that anal they wanted to say something about my bumper cause I have the covers on my warn winch bumper removed to reinforce them with some heavier gauge stuff. I just laughed when I heard them talking about it.

I wish the whole USA would embrace and implement Texas's lift laws.

Re: BODY LIFT ????

Yeah, thats about it! The only laws they have (that i know of) are the headlight/taillight laws.

Tony, if you really want to, pull the blocks, mail em to me, and ill chop em down, mail em back, and then you can reinstall your (semi)new 2" body lift! Shouldnt be too hard to do
