Winch Solenoid mounting advice???

Would there be anything wrong with mounting the solenoid box to my ramsey rep8k vertical instead of the way shown in the manual- horizontal?

Theres just no room for it inside my warn bumper on the motor (left) side to mount it upright and they only give you 8" of wire [img]images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img], theres plenty of room on the right though [img]images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img], the box is open underneath the plastic cover so even if it was mounted upright, at highway speeds and driving rain, im sure water can still get under it. Id rather not try to make up longer power wires, if i cant mount it vertical (theres room to slip it in the well sideways-left of the motor) i will have to fabricate some sort of bracket for it above the motor...

I don't see why you couldn't - as long as it's not going to HOLD water.
