Re: Has anyone seen Shovel, Hows the 347 running

Hahaha... just got the internet back, amen!!! I don't have anything bad to report except my engine light comes on randomly. Mechanically, everything runs awesome. I think I read somewhere with my MAF conversion instructions that my new computer might do that but it's nothing to worry about. Here it is... "In some applications 'CHECK ENGINE' light may illuminate and shut off @ approximately 3 miles after cold start. This is normal and is no reason for concern." Sounds fishy to me, but like I said earlier everything runs fine. I went wheeling this Christmas break and it did awesome in the mud and rocks. Check this post 392 Ford....as a race engine? where I talk about it. Still working on the gas mileage. Between work, school, and my drunkin Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights I haven't had much time.

hey shovel good to hear, im gonna shoot for a 331 this summer if i can pull together the funds. you might think about getting a chip burned for you application might get rid of that damn light and help things run really smooth. I forgot did you have an automatic tranny or 4speed man. hows it holding up. take it easy and have fun. I just found my pasenger manifold is cracked really bad. guess its time for headers , or darn hehe.

331, yeah strokers are the way to go! The computer is a custom one that came with my MAF conversion from Ford Motorsports that can handle modified engines, so it seems like a custom chip shouldn't be needed.

I have a 5 speed manual M5OD.
