Spirit of giving is all around me

About a week ago, I found out that I could get b-stock speaker boxes from work for next to nothing. I told the guy in charge of them what I was wanting and he said he'd look them up for me. He said it would be $20 for it, and I'm thinking that its one heck of a deal because of the box I want. Yesterday, I find out that THEY'RE ready. That confused me a little, but I went on. About 20min later my boss comes up to me and asks me if I want to buy a $66 gas card (weird number because its to philips 66 stations) for $50. I say heck ya. I'm figurin that the extra $16 I just made will help pay for that extra box he had ready for me. Well, I get in there to get it and its $20 for both of them. So total, I have one new box, one extra box, and a $66 gas card which puts me in the hole a whole $4!

BTW, I got the sucker installed today...here's the pictures:

Re: Spirit of giving is all around me

Very nice Matt. I've seen the Q-logic boxes in Crutchfield but not one that would fit in the Bronco on the right rear corner. Is there one for that space? I want the one that is powered? If so, can you score a decent price for it ?

Thanks,
Anthony

Re: Spirit of giving is all around me

I might be able to score ya a good price, BUT ever since I began working there 2 yrs ago, I've been suggesting a bronco custom enclosure. NO DICE!! The only custom enclosure type thing we make for a bronco is the kick panels for putting 6-1/2" mids, and 2" tweeters in pointed at your face. MTX makes some custom enclosures, but I haven't seen any for the bronco yet. Not real sure, but the explorer's custom enclosure may work. I haven't seen an explorer's rear cargo area in up close and personal, but pictures show they look a lot alike. I'll have to check on that.

EDIT: Maybe not, I went to crutchfield to refresh my memory on explorers, and they don't look as much alike as I thought. But it still may be do-able if you modify a little.

Re: Spirit of giving is all around me

You might be right about using the one for the Explorer. I could always figure a way to mount it. What's a little customizing going to hurt That would be cool if you could check it out though.

I used the MTX enclosure for Explorer. Just built brackets to mount it then built a custom cover for it. Came out great...pics somewhere in my link below...

That looks like it might work for me Burnt. I have the inside spare and I want it to slide in between.
