1999 F-250 Blew Sparkplug out

Hello all, I know that this is the "wrong" forum (no need to flame me) but I am hoping that by posting in this my usual forum as well as the "1997 - on" forum I might get help for my friend quicker as I am sure that not all people read posts in both sections...

Hello All! I have a friend in New Mexico who just blew out a sparkplug in his 1999 F-250 with the V-10 engine. He bought the truck new and it has about 75,000 miles on it. This happened while driving down the highway at normal speeds. As per Ford's instructions he did not replace the sparkplugs as he was waiting until the recommended 100,000 mile replacement schedule so they cannot accuse him of cross threading the plugs.

In reading other posts on this and other boards it appears that this is becoming a common problem. Does anyone have access to Ford internal TSB's or any documentation that might help my friend have Ford fix this problem for him? The local dealer in Taos quoted him $3000.00 for a new head installed and I have read so many other cases of this happening that I cannot believe that they would not do a warranty replacement for him. He was driving to Michigan when this happened and the local dealer where he went had three 1999 F-250's with the same problem. Also the local dealer in Taos has another one with the same problem. I cannot believe that Ford does not have a "silent recall" for this problem yet, if anyone knows about it please contact me ASAP!

Thanks in advance and best regards!
