Another off the wall idea of mine

Today, I realized the importance of heated mirrors. I had about 1/2" of ICE packed on them this morning. How hard would it be to modify to add heat to them? BTW, I have power mirrors with the integrated signals.

Side track (2 posts in one) - Does anyone know where to find die cast (or plain) models of 92-96 broncos? I've been looking for awhile, but all I can find is Early broncos.

Re: Another off the wall idea of mine

This doesn't help you but I've always laughed at the high dollar mirrors... both of mine are currently dented and tweaked, nearly hanging by a thread. I'd rip the expensive ones off the first day on the trail.....

I don't think I've ever seen a '92-96 die cast, but see attachment

Re: Another off the wall idea of mine

After almost a year of searching I have come to realize that there is no toy perid for a bronco after about mid 80's. Hotwheels will run you about $5-50 shipped. Plastic Models will run you $15-100 shipped. Ebay is the best place to get them.

BTW nice collection! I missed out on a stomper from E-bay. Saved the wrong auction and the Bronco stomper ended befor I noticed it. Did get me a plastic for $15 and #859 Hotwheels for $4.50

Is that a NORBA logo there behind the TV? Nice collection of models there too BTW.

Re: Another off the wall idea of mine

why dont you just put plastic bags on them when you park it for a long while when its snowing? even simpler. pull of the bags, and no ice on anything.

Yeah, that banner was stolen from a race many years ago. It just fell apart the other night. I race when I can, just Sport Senior.

Re: Freezing Mirrors

This might sound funny, but it actually worked.
I put some ski-goggle anti fog, and a liberal coating of Rain-X on my mirrors.
No more ice.
We've had the dreaded "freezing fog" again this past week.
I still haven't added another squirter to help my freezing windshield problem, but I did find some killer w/w fluid.
Peak. It's purple. Well worth the $1.99 extra over the cruddy blue stuff.
Who woulda thunk that color matters!

BTW, that is a killer collection there Shilo!
I've got an '85 Bronco (of course) model I detailed out several years ago.
Have to get a pic.

Hey! I race/raced (NORBA) Senior class as well in a few events out west.
Not many here in Montana.
Just ride....ride....ride.

Re: Freezing Mirrors

Haaaaa, not to be a smart ask, but that post was almost a year ago. Guess you forgot about the annoyance until it was an annoyance again....Now that it is friggin' freezing to work on

Well, you could stay below 35mph since it is freezing fog. Wonder how the roads are??? I took a trip to visit the family in Oregon a few years back. Was headed up from Denver, west from Cheyenne, at night. What a mistake, snow sooooo blinding, fog so dense, when we finally got out of it after several hours of 5-15 mph driving on the interstate, staying close to those in front and in back so as not to lose sight of their lights, I was dead tired. My eyes hurt. Started to relax as I could see again, road seemed clear, got going to about 50 because an 18 wheeler was sailing up from behind me. Got to an overpass at the same time the truck did, and as he went flying by, I started to fishtail from the rear. Somehow I managed to miss that truck, and there was no one else around to come careening into me as I got it under control. I never go fast in that kind of stuff, having survived that.

My family was with me.
