FI 351W/C6?

What years did Ford offer a Fuel Injected motor in conjunction with a C6 Tranny? I'm thinking 87+ maybe? I'd like to retain the C6 tranny and distributor. I'm thinking that maybe I'll be motor hunting in the not so far future. Also I'd like to know what computers were offers to do the processing for the 351 FI. I imagine there would be at least two. One for the C6 and one for the AOD. Thanx NORM

I'm also thinking of doing this again. Holley Projection. I don't think they would sell it if it didn't work. This is what Holley claims: <font color="red"> A stand alone fuel injection system for your carbureted car or truck.

AMC, GM, Chrysler, Ford: V8s, up to 275 HP, 670 cfm Pro-Jection 2 barrel, bright finish, digital fuel injection system

This Pro-Jection system flows 670 cfm. It provides improved drivability, fantastic throttle response, greater fuel economy, and increased power over your OEM system. It is a complete stand-alone system.

Re: FI 351W/C6?

Ford didnt fuel inject the 5.8L till 1988 and (from what my book tells me) 1990 was the last year for the C6 also 88 F350s only had 7.5s , so 88-90 F250, 89-90 F350, OR 88-90 E-250-350 Econolines.

I dont know if thats all you will find the combination in, but probably your best bet.

There's no computer control for the manual transmissions or the mechanical automatics; the only transmissions controlled by the computer were the E4OD and the 4R70W.

I have a couple of wheeling aquaintances in the Salt Lake area that swear by the projection system a little pricey and for us here not street legal on anything with emission controls. Have to swap one day a year for safety inspection.

Re: FI 351W/C6?

I wish my 347 was carbed when I dropped in just so I could use the Holley Projection system. I've looked at those systems and they look too interesting to not try. Just don't know anybody who has used one though.

Re: FI 351W/C6?

That's what I'm thinking.
-um... Emisions? We don't need no stinking... Well I'm still lucky enough to live in an area that doesn't do smog tests yet. I'm thinking of doing the project in two parts. Part one I'll buy and install a non egr aluminum intake and reatatch the carb. and in part two I'll buy the 750-800 dollar system and install it. Anyone have any good links for the Projection install and setup. I don't care about brand loyalty on this one as the kit I'll be buying will pretty much work for any V8. NORM
