transmissions! yeehaw!

hey guys, me and my buddy were talkin tonight about what we're gonna do with my transmission and we figured seeing as the wreckers has a million 4 speed manuals,(any tranny for 120 bucks cndn) we would pick one up there, take out my M5OD, use the 4 spd while we rebuild my 5 spd in the basement. i've got a few questions as to what would fit though! depending on the transmission, would my transfer case bolt on to any 4 speed easily and would i be able to bolt up to my engine easy? i think the 4 speeds available were np435, or t-18? in the late 80's that is. i've been searching wreckers all summer and fall and haven't found a single 5 speed. so i'm thinking this might work for me but i don't know if its worth the hassle. anyone have any ideas or think this might not be worth the hassle?

Re: transmissions! yeehaw!

we were kinda thinkin if we found a truck with drive shafts, everything all together it may be worth it. it might also be worth my time to buy a parts truck from someone and strip the thing as i need parts as long as i find one with a 5 spd.
