Packing List

I know we've done this before but it's been awhile and I have mo sh!t now so here goes:
1. 3 toolboxes (the carry type that has a tray and room under it) Yes there are tools in them
2. Spare front axles
3. Spare stearing linkage
4. AC/DC Honda Generator
5. Grinder
6. Drill and drill index
7. Extention cord and Drop light
8. Hand Saw
9. Full size shovel. (ever had to dig out the bottom of your truck with those short handled ones? [img]images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] )
10. Pickaxe
11. Lots of chain (Yeah, I know what they say)
12.Tow Strap
13. Higlift Jack
14. roller jack (small cheapie but it works)
15. Old heavy bottle jack
16 One gallon water in antifreeze bottle
17. 5 gallons drinking water
18. 4 MRE's leftover from military service
19 CB Radio with steel longwhip antena (hey it was free!)
20 new spiffy Jenson Radio (finally got it in today)
21 cassets
22. one pack xxx playing cards (gift from wife [img]images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] and one pack without the pix
23. Blanket
24. Spare fluids. (oil and Tranny)
25. First aid kit
26. Fire extinguisher
Well I'm sure I forgot something but that is a good start. I remember the last time we did this I got alot of ideas on what to bring. I haven't had to use all these items yet but alot of them I would have been stranded or uncomfortable without at one time or another. So lets have them. Share your packing list!!! NUFF SAID. 2 sets of front shafts
1 spindle/rotor/hub assembly/wheel bearings
grease
multiple hammers
wrenches, standard and metric
duct tape
wires(insulated and bailing wire type)
sokcets
cutters
knife
assortment of prybars
6 quarts oil
2 gallons antifreeze
quart of brake fluid
auto trans fluid(trans, and steering then)
6 pints of gear oil.
4 3"x30 straps
2 3"x20 straps
5' and 10' sections of rated logging chain
3 clevis's that are rated for 10ton working load
my winch
extra towhooks with grade 8 hardware thats forsale to the morons who show up to wheel, and dont have tow hooks. they bolt some on in the parking lot, or i wont wheel with them.
snatch block
come along
misc bolts
2 gal water
1 gal windsheild fluid
highlift
bottle jack
floor jack
porta power
first aid kit
3 fire extinguishers
spare tire
spare tube
trailer with tow rig
if all else fails, use spare zuk. (new plan for the big weekends, both rigs are going down!)

c'mon guys out with it. I forgot to add BBQ and bricquets. I got a fuse selection too. I'm not going to list all the tools. [img]images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Actually, i would love to be able to carry what Burned has, especially that trailer/tow vehicle! Actually, thats a good idea having those spare tow hooks with you. I installed em on mine, (as did steve on his), and now we've both used em- what a life saver they were!

All i have is the basics:
some fluids, a ratchet/wrench set, straps, tie downs, some spare clothing, flashlights, duct tape (fixes everything! [img]images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]), and of course my spare tire and hi-lift. Im sure im forgetting some stuff, but that is unfortunately the majority of it

All you need is duct tape and JB weld.

Actually I was a field artillerty mechanic, and specialized in recovery. I know how to pack and be prepared.


If somebody listed these things, I missed them, sorry, no flame please.


1. Spare Hoses and belts
2. an oxygen act. torch
3. battery
4. Any part that you've had trouble with (starter, alt., water pump so on.)
5. Work Manual
6. Change of clothes
7. Blankets
8. Fuses
9. Wire, electrical tape
10. JB Weld
11. Bailing wire
12. Tire repair kit
13. Flash lights
14. Extra Fuel
15. FOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDD [img]images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
