Oops......sheared a shock! ! !

Was out playing in the mud today and ended up nailing a rut or something pretty hard. As I was driving around I kept hearing a weird noise. I even got out a couple of times to double check everything....everything but the shock. It finally occured to me to look there and sure as sh!t it sheared off at the top mounting area. Pretty much right at the weld.

Do you think it will be cool to drive it around w/o that shock for a few days until I can get a new one?

Yeah, the ironic thing about that is if I had been going a little slower, I wouldn't be in the position I'm in now

Re: Oops......sheared a shock! ! !

still go slow and drive carefully dont maek sharp turns at high speads, theres no shock and all the force will transfer to the spring and thus more bounce.

missing a front is worse then a back cause you can loose stearing on a big bump.

you knowtice the front end more if its in the front when you hit bumps on a curve and the truck may lean into the curve
