eBay stuff!

This mass air kit off a lightning says it will work with a 5.8/e4od f150 but that seems unlikely to me:

Re: eBay stuff!

i doubt that front end is for a 250, since they only come with 3.73 or 4.30 gears!

Re: eBay stuff!

that's a good point! now we know why he's selling it

i dunno if anybody has realized this, but i was just at car-part.com and accidently asked for a front axle out of a f450/550, and those come with either 4.88 or 5.38 gears! man, that would be sweet to get a near-mint dana 60 (70?) and not even have to swap gears!

Re: eBay stuff!

It's for a DODGE! I just looked up dodge 1 tons and that's the serial number for a dodge 3.54 front axle Do those have CAD, cuz it looks like there is some metal structure attached to the axle on the left side of the zoomed out pic? I sent the guy a message noting that this is not a ford axle, i bet there's some bid retraction after that

Re: eBay stuff!

the rear end in a 450 is a dana 80 with 1.50 axles and 37 splines and a 550 is a dana s135 with 1.72 with 36 spline and a 14.17 inch ring gear!

Re: eBay stuff!

yeah the rear axle would be overkill, but the front should be just about right

apparently i am wrong, he emailed me back and said it certainly is a ford 02 axle... the serial numbers were similar because they are dana numbers, not ford or dodge assigned. the gear ratio is a mystery, but he said it has lockouts and a vac disconnect? is that true, why would they need both?
