302/351 swap questions

I have an 81 bronco with a TIRED 302 and a C6, a buddy of mine just gave me a rebuilt 351w from a '77 t-bird, minus carb and exhaust, I was just wondering if anyone had done this swap or a similar one and had info on exactly what I am going to run into i.e.: will 351 bolt to tranny, are the motor mounts different, will I need a different oil pan, etc. I'm determined to get the 351 in, so a little advice would be great.

Re: 302/351 swap questions

All you should need is the exhaust pipe reshaped to fit the 351 headders or manifold or a new "h pipe cost me $300, New computer (if applicable) for the 351-$110 (advanced auto) make sure you have the correct distributor( firing order is different). Bolt everything up and go! Oh ya, I'd run an aftermarket coil, MSD, Jacobs, Accel. And K & N drop-in filter so it can breathe. You'll be able to do it for about $500 or so.

Re: 302/351 swap questions

Do a search. This has been discussed.
You'll need the oil pan (from Bronco/F-150) and distributor for the 351.
Neither of those 302 parts will fit.
(Nor will the pan from the t'bird work on the truck)
The deck height is taller, hence the longer distributor for the 351.
F/R mains are different size, hence needing a 351 specific pan.

And, say hi to all the folks in Marysville!
Do they still have the "Strawberry Festival" in the summer?
Used to go every year...in the...ahem...60's-70's.
Also saw a few movies at the Thuderbird Drive-In Theatre.
