Re: Goodie on Harbor Freight

the specs show 31-48 feet per minute in high gear depending on layer, which means it should take less than 3 minutes to respool the entire winch... what's so bad about that? or are they really slower than these specs because most PS pumps dont deliver 3.5gpm? i used to really like the idea of those MM winches but the more i think about it an electric winch with an isolated dual battery setup would be pretty sweet. i dont want to have to rely on a ford ps pump to pull me out of a river anyway

speaking of which, i hear the electrics dont run underwater, but why is that? arent they fully sealed? that could be a problem if they arent.

Re: Goodie on Harbor Freight

water will get in them, and i also believe that that gasses inside the starter case may have to be vented, espicially when things heat up and expand(air i mean)
when i picked mine up broken, it was totally locked up and corroded due to water.
