Hi all, I finally bought a fuel pressure tester. I tested my Bronco ('88, 351) and found my fuel pressure to be 1) with the engine off and key on, it read 35 lbs., 2) with the engine on, it read 32 lbs. This is after I replaced the fuel pressure regulator. My manuals do not give me any indication of a good operating threshold. Are these figures OK?
Those numbers are right in the Ball-Park. Uncle Don has the right numbers memorized. He can quickly verify. Does the Truck run any better? How did you like those 3 little fasteners that hold on the Regulator? What a pain!
Jim, the truck is running the same. I'm still getting the minor surge. Unfortunately it's more of a weekend rig and I don't put too many miles on it. I'll keep driving it and see what happens. Thanks for the feedback on the fuel pressure. As for the three nuts, actually one of them was a pain the #$% to remove and install. Did it by touch and smell....
