Hesitation only at 1500 Rpm\'s

90 Bronco 302 F.I. Auto.
Any ideas what would cause a hesitation (jerky motion) only at 1500 rpm's in all gears and speeds.
Example: Cruising along at 35 mph and when the rpm's are steady at 1500, the truck develops a bad hesitation. If you let off the gas or stomp on it the hesitation goes away.....
No check engine light and this problem only occurs half the time..

Thanks, Jeff

Re: Hesitation only at 1500 Rpm\'s

First thing I'd do is pull out the plugs and have a look. To my amazement, on my '90 Toyota, which runs well traditionally, started doing that at lower rpms. I decided to change my 1 1/2 year old splitfires, they were used up and covered in carbon deposits. I used, 1/2 the price, NGK's and the problem went away. If anything, pulling the plugs will indicate how the engine is running. Your problem might only be dirty injectors, or something like that. Maybe it's time for a good tune-up, have a look at the ignition components(cap, rotor, etc). I guess that without experiencing the miss, one wouldn't quite know the source.
Good luck, and let us know, PJL
