1ton rearend in 93 bronco...what about speed sensor

I think I've gotten water in my diff again...I went out once before I put the breather lines on and must have gotten water in this 8.8 again..and I ain't rebuilding it again. SO, I'd like to put a heavy duty rearend in, preferably a ford fullfloating 10.25 (10.5?), but am curious what years can I pull it out of? A 92-96 would probably work, but I'm wondering if maybe one from the late 80's would also work..just to enhance my probability of finding one. Also, do the most recent trucks use the same sensor and connector as mine? Anybody who knows about all this electrical bs on these models please let me know. Thanks!

Re: 1ton rearend in 93 bronco...what about speed sensor

I have been looking into charging my rearend to a DANA 60. I located a '94 Ford F-250, but wasn't sure what the rearend was under it. I believe that it was a DANA 60, but can not be sure. Although it did have the ABS connection for the sensor.

But to give some insight, the 3/4 and above rearends have 8 lugs. And I do not know if you can change that without extensive cost.

So, if you come up with any answers or information, please let me know too.

So Technoman, are you saying that your 91 probably has the same connector that mine has? Doesn't the body on a 91 go back to 87? If an 87 f350 1ton would work that would make things easier to find.
(that's assuming that the 87 came with ABS...who knows)

Re: 1ton rearend in 93 bronco...what about speed sensor

Myself, I do not know that ABS was on the pre 90 Broncos. But I do know that the sensor looks the same on the '94, but as I mentioned the 3/4 and 1 ton have 8 lugs, not 5.

I am about to check with some companys to see if the rearend can be set up for 5 lugs. This would make it easier to purchase rims that are 15x10 or 15x12.

Hope I helped!
