sluggish engine
I have a 1990 ford bronco with 3.55 rear diff and an e4od transmission. My problem is that the car feels very sluggish when the engine is warmed up. I press the gas and the engine revs up, but the car doesn't move forward like it should. I press the gas harder, the engine revs up more, but i'm almost going just as fast when i press the gas normally. It doesn't act this way when the engine is cold. Is it the tranny or an engine sensor. Please help!

Re: sluggish engine
My guess is that it is the tranny that is causing you problems, I had the same problems only a bit worse
when I would put the truck in drive it wouldn't move, but after it got warm it would move but slowly, I topped
up the tranny fluid and the problem went away. Just a guess. Good luck

Re: sluggish engine
Definitely check the trans fluid, level, as well as condition. If it's low, and not burned you're probably in good shape. If it has the burned condition (dark, or blackish), then you probably smoked your clutches, and OD band...time for a rebuild. A rebuild will probably run you around $1500 if they do all the work, but only around $500 if you R&R the trans yourself
